Exterminating Pop Culture Pays Big Media Dividends

An inspired parody with a star cameo.

Terminix is the long-established leader in pest control, but it’s only recently entered the mosquito control category. The brand wanted to raise its profile heading into the summer mosquito season, so with buzz building for the third Sharknado film in the summer of 2015, we launched an inspired parody, “Mosquitonado.” Complete with a cameo from Sharknado star Tara Reid, the video was an instant smash, was covered by the likes of Huffington Post, People and Fast Company at the moment Terminix had a key business reason to raise the profile of its mosquito services.


This campaign is currently a finalist for three Insight & Innovation (In2) SABRE Awards.
